New Drive and Path with Granite Setts Edging

This recent job in Worsthorne, Burnley, uses a clever and creative combination of red tarmac, granite setts and Yorkstone flags. We laid a new drive with neat edges and entrance and completed the project with a classic footpath in traditional Yorkshire stone paving which adds so much character.

The granite setts add a touch of class to the drive entrance and to the tarmac edges. As well as being smart and practical they reflect the character of the Lancashire area with its cobbled streets.

Surface water drains were inset into the drive surface in strategic runs to take off excess rainwater in a controlled manner rather than letting uncontrolled flow over the drive and pathway surfaces leave unsightly streaks and deposits. These drains also cope with run-off from the roof by collecting the discharge from the downspouts avoiding the need for large, ugly gullies.

The work was completed on time and to budget and the site was left in a very clean and tidy state – as you can see!
