Tarmac driveway with Tegula border, Blue Slate and Indian Stone Circle, Burnley.
The customer on this project wanted a maintenance free, smart and tidy looking area at the front of their property.
We came up with a combination of tarmac, blue slate and Indian Stone, which all work well when combined.
Firstly we removed the front garden and bushes to the left of the house. We then excavated the existing driveway down to a solid ground and installed type 1 MOT and machine rolled.
We also removed the old steps at the front door, that were uneven and dangerous. We constructed new ones using natural stone and Indian Stone flags.
We then installed acorn channels to divert any surface water and installed the Tegula block paving border around the perimeter of the driveway.
Before we laid the blue slate, we laid Membrane sheeting to prevent weeds growing and installed a single ring Indian Stone circle to break the area up.
For the tarmac driveway we laid a 20mm base coat and machine rolled for a solid foundation. We then we laid a 6mm top dress coat and machine rolled to a smooth and compact finish.
What the customer said:
Absolutely cracking job of my drive and every bit else. Kept me up to date on the progress of the project throughout and gave sound advice on the some of the challenges we faced along the way (all mine but fixed by these guys!)”
